CHROMEBOOKS, IPADS, SMARTBOARDS, OH MY!

Students in grades 5 through 8 purchased Chromebooks to use in conjunction with the school's Google Management System. Students use Google Classroom and a variety of educational apps to make learning interactive, accessible and fun. Science textbooks are now available online, offering our students and their families challenging learning opportunities. Teachers are also better equipped to address students' varied learning styles and tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.

Aquinas Academy currently uses SMARTBoards to enhance the curriculum and further integrate technology into students' lessons. A SMARTBoard is an interactive whiteboard that connects to a projector and a computer. SMARTBoards are mounted in each Preschool through Eighth Grade classroom as well as in the Active Learning Center and Spanish/music room. Students are able to use their fingers like a computer mouse to interact with websites, programs, and teacher-made applications. SMARTBoards cater to tactile, auditory, and visual learners and are easily integrated into the general curricular subjects.
