Mrs. Gloria Castucci graduated from Felician College in Lodi, New Jersey. She earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Administration from Kean University. After more than a decade of teaching, Mrs. Castucci joined the staff at Saint Philomena School in 1981. Her primary role was to begin an Early Childhood Center that offered both full and half day schedules. Under her direction, the Center has grown to become an integral part of Aquinas Academy.
Since 1988, Mrs. Castucci has served as the Director of Early Childhood Programs for the Archdiocese of Newark. For over twenty years, she has been an adjunct professor and supervisor at both Caldwell College and Seton Hall University.
In 2000, Mrs. Castucci co-authored the textbook, Good Practice for Young Children: A Guide for Early Childhood Educators, published by the National Catholic Educational Association in Washington, D.C. In 2003, she wrote the section on early childhood education for The Encyclopedia of New Jersey, Rutgers University Press, Piscataway, New Jersey.
In 1997, Mrs. Castucci received the “Jubilee Medal Pro Meritis” awarded by the Archdiocese of Newark. She is a member of “Who’s Who in American Education” 1989-1990, 1997-1998. From 1999 to 2008, she served on The Professional Teaching Standards Board for the State of New Jersey representing non-public educational institutions throughout the state.
Mrs. Castucci has presented many educational workshops at the local and national level. She has recorded several presentations on the subject of early childhood and has appeared as a guest speaker on the Comcast Television Program: Family Talk: Promoting Early Literacy, May 2000.
